Meet the Founder Behind
Quliance

Preety Sehgal

Preety Sehgal is not just the creator of Quliance.
She is the voice behind years of seeing the Early Childhood sector carry the invisible weight of compliance.

After working across almost every layer of ECE (from kaiako to leadership, Consultant to Quality Assurance Manager, and as a former Education Review Officer) Preety has spent years inside the reality of services, not outside judging them from a distance.

More About Preety's Journey to Quliance

Being in the industry in New Zealand for close to 25 years, she has reviewed over 300+ services as an Education Review Officer and worked alongside more than 250+ centres as a Consultant, Mentor and Leader.

She has seen:

  • Incredible teachers lose confidence over paperwork.
  • Managers drowning in systems that were never built for real-life practice.
  • Owners carrying the pressure of compliance risk, staffing pressure and operational chaos.
  • Teams doing meaningful work with children while silently fearing “what if we missed something?”

She has witnessed the tears after Ministry visits. The panic before ERO reviews. The exhaustion behind incident investigations. The sleepless nights of leaders trying to hold everything together. And through all of it, one thing became clear: The sector does not lack care.
It lacks clarity, connected systems and support that understands the human side of compliance.

Quliance was not created in a boardroom by people disconnected from ECE. It was built from hundreds of conversations, complaints worked through, investigations navigated, systems reviewed and voices heard across the sector.

It carries the experiences of:

  • Teachers trying to keep up
  • Managers trying to lead
  • Owners trying to sustain quality
  • Leaders trying to protect their teams
  • Services trying to move from survival to intentional practice

Every feature, workflow, reminder, report and reflection tool inside Quliance exists because someone in the sector once said: “There has to be a better way.” Preety understands compliance deeply, but more importantly, she understands why compliance scares people.

That is why Quliance is designed differently.

Not as a policing tool.
Not as another layer of pressure.
But as an advocacy tool for the sector.

A platform built to reduce chaos, restore confidence, strengthen quality practice and help services move from reactive compliance… to intentional leadership.

How we think at Q:

What we build matters. But how we think, listen and make decisions matters just as much.

Make it meaningful

If it doesn’t make ECE better, we question why we’re doing it.

Technology should make life easier for teachers and leaders while strengthening quality. We don’t digitise something simply because we can. We build where we believe we can make a meaningful difference.

Listen to the heartbeat

We build with the sector, not just for it.

Q. keeps listening — to leaders, teachers, organisations and the realities of everyday ECE. Their experiences, challenges and ideas continue to shape what we build and where we go next.

Do what is right

Integrity before convenience.

We choose honesty, transparency and responsibility — including when the easier option is available. When your work touches compliance, risk, people and children, trust isn’t negotiable.

Stay ahead

We don’t wait for change. We anticipate it.

ECE keeps moving. Regulation changes. Expectations evolve. Technology advances. We keep looking forward so the people using Q. can feel prepared for what’s next, not constantly catching up.

Keep it simple

Complexity belongs with us, not our customers.

Behind simple technology can sit enormous complexity. That’s our problem to solve. Q. should feel intuitive, practical and easy to use — because powerful technology shouldn’t feel complicated.

Quliance is not just software. It is the result of years spent listening to the heartbeat of ECE.
